Tansi Fotedar graduated from National Law University, Delhi in 2022 as a triple gold medalist, after which she joined the chambers of Mr. Nakul Dewan, Senior Advocate Supreme Court of India and King’s Counsel. She appeared in international arbitration trials and litigations involving multiple systems of law, landmark Constitution Bench cases on arbitration and the ongoing constitutional challenge to the Surrogacy (Regulation) Act 2021 before the Supreme Court of India. Her experiences demonstrated the impact of strategic litigation and the importance of diverse international perspectives in developing law. In the long term, she aims to combine her multi-jurisdictional academic and professional experience to set up her own practice, and eventually transition to roles that allow her to directly shape Indian policy and legislation. To this end, she is now reading for the Bachelor of Civil Law (BCL) at the University of Oxford. Outside of the law, Tansi enjoys running, sports, sampling new restaurants and perfecting her iced coffee recipe.
