Siddhant is a BSc (Hons) Chemistry graduate from St. Stephen’s College, University of Delhi. He is currently a fully-funded doctoral student in Organic Chemistry at the University of Oxford. Affiliated to the Ineos Oxford institute of antimicrobial research, he’s working with 2OG oxygenases in the Schofield group laying special emphasis on secondary metabolite production via enzymatic routes. He envisions employing proteincentric and synthetic approaches to explore newer avenues in the quest for therapeutics and diagnostics. Post course completion, he intends to work in academia and wishes to lead a research group of his own. From teaching science, mathematics, and IT to underprivileged students in slums, to encouraging them for STEM-&-medicine, he has tried everything in his capacity as an educator to improve the existing health & poverty conditions in society. He firmly believes that education is the most powerful tool for removing social inequalities. Siddhant has been proactively involved in working for the disabled and the marginalized communities including the LGBTQ+.
