Poornash Anandan Sangeetha (A.S. Poornash) is a Computer Science graduate from Indian Institute of Technology Patna (IIT-P) and currently pursuing a Master’s in Machine Learning at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU). He has interned at top institutions like the University of Southern California, Amazon, and KMITL (Thailand), with publications in leading conferences such as ACL, CIKM, ACM Multimedia, AAAI, and IEEE Transactions. His research centres on trustworthy multimodal AI, focusing on fairness, privacy, and interpretability, with notable projects in toxicity detection, federated learning, and hate speech detection in lowresource languages. His accolades include winning 6th place in the Amazon ML Challenge 2024, gold medal at Inter IIT Tech Meet 2023, and international research fellowships like IUSSTF-Viterbi, MITACS Globalink, and DAAD-WISE. An avid puzzle solver and speedcuber, he co-founded IIT Patna’s puzzle club, Hexachrome. Poornash aims to advance fair and trustworthy AI for realworld impact.
