A recipient of 2006 Narotam Sekhsaria Foundation Post Graduate Scholarship, Nitin Tanwar is a serial entrepreneur in the climate technology space and is currently the founder of London-based startup EcoLeap.Digital. The startup is developing the world’s first Digital Monitoring Reporting Verification (DMRV) software. This platform uses satellite data to remotely track a newly planted sapling and trees, detect its species, and measure its growth in carbon stock. This technological breakthrough is set to revolutionize the natural capital investments in afforestation and reforestation projects. Previously, Nitin founded, scaled, and successfully exited CaliforniaCarbon.info, a market intelligence company focused on California’s compliance carbon markets. He also founded and scaled Regent Climate Connect, a startup in India that used Artificial Intelligence to forecast weather patterns above solar power plants; it was later acquired by NASDAQ-listed ReNew Energy Global Plc. Nitin began his career at Cargill Corporation’s European Power, Gas, and Emissions Trading desk in London, where he traded various carbon certificates and worked on internal carbon compliance initiatives. He was one of the youngest authors to publish in Elsevier’s journal on Energy Policy and holds a BS in Civil and Environmental Engineering, along with an MPhil in Engineering for Sustainable Development from the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom. He resides in London with his two lovely daughters.
