Madhu Yalamarthi is the co-founder and CEO of Modak, a US-based fintech platform focussed on leveraging the power of technology and finance to empower teens in reaching their fullest potential. Modak raised $19 M in funding from GGV Capital, Nazca, Monashees, and other leading investors. Prior to Modak, Madhu was a Vice President at GGV Capital – a $9.2 Billion global venture capital firm – where he invested over $200M in 14 startups across the US, India, and LatAm, of which 4 startups became unicorns. Prior to that, Madhu worked across India, Africa, and the US in strategy, operations, and product development functions. Madhu has an MBA and MS from Stanford University, where he graduated in the top 10% of his MBA class. Madhu is a first-generation high school graduate and comes from humble beginnings in rural India. The path from there to here taught him the importance of education, hustle, and hard work. Hence, he gets energy from helping others reach their fullest potential. Madhu is especially keen on guiding and mentoring students who are the first in their families to graduate from college.
