Karan Shinghal

Karan Shinghal is a BBA graduate from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), Mumbai, who grew up in Dehradun. Over the last eight years of his career in food systems, he has built and scaled a food and beverage company and worked with the/nudge Institute. He has designed agriculture and livestock-based interventions to alleviate poverty for 3500 small and marginal women farmers. Currently, as a programme associate with the Council on Energy, Environment and Water, he informs narratives and policies on creating a sustainable food system. He co-authored the book, “Millet Mantraā€¯, which highlights stories of people and organisations who have championed millets from farm to fork in India. Karan is heading to the University of Sussex for an MSc in Climate Change, Development and Policy. He aspires to enable 150 million smallholder farmers in India to rise out of poverty and transition to a sustainable food future. Karan is also a dedicated long-distance runner and endurance athlete.
