Gunjan Dhanuka is a Research Scientist at Mistral AI, where he focuses on the development and advancement of Multimodal Models. He holds an MS in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), where he was advised by Prof. Zico Kolter. His research at CMU centered on the robustness of Generative Models, specifically addressing model efficiency, dataset debiasing, and tackling memorization to make Machine Learning more scalable and secure. Gunjan earned his B.Tech. in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT-G) in 2024. During his undergraduate years, he contributed to research on video anomaly detection at CMU. His industry experience includes internships at Apple, where he developed agents for data analysis, and Rubrik, where he worked on distributed systems. A recipient of the Reliance Foundation Scholarship for CS and AI (2021) and the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) Fellowship (2020), Gunjan is driven by a long-term vision to establish a startup in India dedicated to democratizing AI in a safe and accessible manner. Outside of his research, he is an avid trekker and quizzer who enjoys writing for his blog and playing video games.”
