Barun completed his undergraduate studies at Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, graduating with a B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering with a departmental specialization in Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence, and his Master’s in Machine Learning from Carnegie Mellon University. Barun is currently working with Microsoft AI as Member of Technical staff. Previously, he worked at Microsoft as a Senior Applied Scientist. He was a part of the Turing team at Microsoft as an Applied Scientist that focussed on building multilingual models to support different scenarios in numerous languages. He’s been a Teaching Assistant for Machine Learning at Carnegie Mellon University, and Artificial Intelligence at Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, and enjoys teaching, reading, and playing racquet sports.
