Ajinkya Naik is a BSc Physics graduate from Abasaheb Garware College, University of Pune, and has recently graduated with a MASt in Theoretical Physics from the University of Cambridge. He has worked on significant research projects at institutions like the Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences (ARIES), Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA) and the University of Cambridge. His past work has been primarily focused on gravitational wave astronomy. More recently, he completed a Cambridge Mathematics Placement project at the Institute of Astronomy (IoA), Cambridge, working on the problem of efficient astronomical time series analysis. His research interests are now shifted towards exoplanet astronomy, and he plans to pursue a PhD in this field, with the long-term goal of contributing to cutting-edge observational and computational exoplanet science. Outside academics, he plays the harmonium and guitar, enjoys listening to Indian Classical Music, and also engages in sports like cricket, football and swimming.
