Devang Toshniwal is based out of Singapore and is a Vice President at Warburg Pincus, a global private equity fund. He focuses on the fund’s investment initiatives in Southeast Asia across sectors, including financial services, consumer and internet. He has obtained an MBA from University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business with a major in Finance. Prior to business school, he was working as a Senior Associate with Warburg Pincus in Singapore. He joined the firm’s India team in 2018 and transitioned to Singapore in 2020 to help the firm scale up its investing initiatives in ASEAN. Prior to joining Warburg Pincus, Devang has worked at The Boston Consulting Group and PwC. He is a Chartered Accountant with a All India Rank-21 in CA-Final. He holds a B.Com from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata and has passed all levels of International CFA and Company Secretary. His long term goal is to launch an investment fund aimed at partnering with entrepreneurs and governments across emerging markets including India. Besides contributing capital, he wants to help entrepreneurs harness technologies, leverage networks and facilitate cross-country learning. He is passionate about mentoring underprivileged children and consulting startups / first-generation entrepreneurs. He is an avid swimmer, a certified scuba diver, an amateur runner and a long-time physics enthusiast.
