Karan Shinghal is a BBA graduate from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), Mumbai, who grew up in Dehradun. Over the last eight years of his career in food systems, he has built and scaled a food and beverage company, and worked with the/nudge Institute where he designed agriculture and livestock-based interventions to alleviate poverty for 3500 small and marginal women farmers. Most recently he was working with a think tank – CEEW, where he informed and supported the development of narratives and policies on millets, agroforestry and regenerative agriculture to further the agenda of building sustainable food systems. He co-authored the book, “Millet Mantra”, which highlights stories of people and organisations who have championed millets from farm to fork in India. Karan is currently studying an MSc in Climate Change, Development and Policy at the Institute of Development Studies at the University of Sussex. He aspires to enable 150 million smallholder farmers in India to rise out of a life of mere sustenance and create a sustainable food future for all. Karan is also an active long-distance runner and adventure enthusiast.
