Surabhi Shukla

Surabhi was awarded the scholarship to pursue LLM in Public Interest Law, Gender and Sexuality from UCLA. While at UCLA, she interned with the American Civil Liberties Union of Southern California. Thereafter, she worked at the Supreme Court of India before joining Jindal Global Law School as an Assistant Professor of Law and an Assistant Director of the Centre for Health Law, Ethics and Technology for three years. She was awarded the IASSCS- Ford Emerging Scholars’ International Research Fellowship 2014. Through this fellowship, she has conducted the first-of-its-kind study on the experiences of queer students during their school life in India. This project has since won the Jack Collins Social Action Bursary of the Oriel College, Oxford in 2017. She earned her PhD from the University of Oxford, UK in 2019 and is admitted to the Bar in India and New York. She holds a BA LLB (Hons) in Law from NLSIU, Bengaluru. Currently she is a lecturer in law at the University of Sheffield.
