Namrata Maheshwari is Senior Policy Counsel and Encryption Policy Lead at Access Now. She works with policy organizations, technology companies and government representatives around the world towards strengthening data privacy, security, free speech and access in the digital age. Prior to this, she worked at a premiere corporate law firm in India where she specialized in mergers and acquisitions, and then as a litigator before Indian courts in the area of civil and commercial law. Namrata completed her LLM from Columbia Law School, New York, as a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar in 2020. She received her BA LLB (Hons) in 2016 from Jindal Global Law School where she was a recipient of the Shallu Jindal Scholarship for Outstanding Women.
