Karishma completed the Mphil in Economics from the University of Oxford in 2015 and her Bachelors’ in Economics from the School of Economics, NMIMS University (Mumbai) in 2013. She went on to work as an economic consultant with FTI Consulting and Deloitte where she advised both public and private sector clients on economic issues. She then transitioned into the development sector, working as Special Project Manager at CAMFED International, a non-profit that supports girl child education and post-school transition in sub-Saharan Africa. She is currently the Country Manager at JBJ Foundation in Malawi, where her role includes oversight of the implementation of our projects spanning health, education, nutrition and economic development. Prior to this, she was posted as an ODI Fellow posted to the Ministry of Health in Malawi, where she worked on matters of national health policy and health sector reforms.
