Karan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh, and a Master’s degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He began his career as a software engineer at Nomura Investment Bank and is currently a senior staff engineer at Visa in Foster City, California, focusing on Behavioral Analytics & AI Innovation in the Cybersecurity business unit. Previously, Karan was a senior Engineer at Cisco Systems in San Jose, California. As a member of the WAN Orchestration team, he received multiple awards for his exceptional work on Smart Licensing development. He played a key role in developing the Cisco Crosswork Network Automation suite, which optimizes real-time network performance and enhances service velocity. Additionally, he contributed to the implementation of the Crosswork Optimization Engine, a closed-loop solution designed to automate bandwidth optimization and traffic steering with minimal operator intervention.
