Jayant completed MBBS from Grant Medical College, Mumbai. He was awarded Narotam Sekhsaria Foundation Scholarship to pursue MRes in Regenerative Medicine from University of Bath, which he completed with distinction. He then received a Marie-Curie Fellowship to pursue doctoral research in cancer and stem cells at the University of York.
Following a research stint, he started an academic clinical career, where he aims to continue basic research along with a clinical medical career. His work focuses on cancer evolution and designing new treatments. Currently, he is a clinical lecturer and an oncologist at University College London.
