Veena is currently a fully-funded PhD scholar in the Department of Chemistry at the University of California, Berkeley, where she also works as an instructor for undergraduate students. She completed her dual degree (BS-MS) in Science in 2021 from Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Tirupati. As an undergraduate, she has been a recipient of DST-INSPIRE-SHE scholarship, Institute Silver Medal, and numerous summer research fellowship awards for academic excellence. During her stint as an intern and a Master’s student, she published her research work in multiple international journals. Veena intends to develop mass spectrometry-based analytical methods for versatile biomedical applications. She aspires to be an academician and start her own research lab in India post her PhD program. She enjoys singing, dancing, watching movies, and playing badminton in her free time.
