Sharanya holds a B.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering from VJTI, Mumbai, and has worked as a Senior Engineer at the R&D of Bajaj Auto Limited, Pune. She received an MS and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, specializing in computational modeling of highspeed re-entry flows. While at UIUC, she received the Amelia Earhart Fellowship from Zonta International in 2017 and has gotten a chance to present and published her research at numerous avenues. She is currently a Software Research Engineer/Scientist at Intel Corporation, working on the optimization of photomask designs for Silicon chip manufacturing.
