Surya Kapoor is a practising advocate with more than a decade of experience at the bar. He regularly appears before the Supreme Court of India along with other Courts and specializes in International Dispute Resolution, including international investment and commercial arbitrations. Before starting his independent practice, he worked as a Principal Associate in the Bilateral Investment Treaty (BIT) arbitration team of a Delhi based law firm. He had previously worked at the chambers of Mr. L. Nageswara Rao, Senior Advocate (prior to his elevation) and Mr. Jayant K. Mehta, Senior Advocate. After working on several commercial disputes and clerking at the Supreme Court of India, Surya decided to pursue his LL.M. at Georgetown University Law Center in International Arbitration. He has also served as a Judicial Fellow with Judge Charles N. Brower (international arbitrator) in Washington DC after his LL.M. He strives to grow his sphere of influence and make a meaningful contribution through his profession.
