Bhawesh is an Electrical Engineering graduate from IIT Kanpur and is currently working as a Data Scientist at Thales. He is heading to Harvard University for an MS degree in Health Data Science. He intends to pursue Ph.D. in Health Informatics and aspires to be a professor in the future, working on research problems that improve access to healthcare. Bhawesh is passionate about working at the intersection of healthcare and data science. He has been volunteering for labs at MIT and Harvard as an independent researcher mainly working on health informatics problems. He also writes a blog on health care and rural education.
Chinmayi completed her BE in Biotechnology from BMS College of Engineering. She has worked as Research Associate with Unilever R&D and is currently interning at Institute for Stem Cell Science and Regenerative Medicine, both in Bangalore. She is heading to University of California, San Diego to pursue MS in Bioengineering. Post her Master’s, she intends to pursue a PhD and return to India to become a scientist in the biomedical industry. Her vision is to develop novel, affordable therapeutics and put India on the global map in the field of regenerative medicine. Her paper on wound healing has been published in the Journal of the Indian Institute of Science. Chinmayi is a trained Hindustani classical vocalist and Kathak dancer and has performed at various platforms across the country. She enjoys reading, public speaking, creating digital art and engaging in yoga in her leisure time.
Devang Toshniwal is based out of Singapore and is currently working as a Senior Associate with Warburg Pincus. He joined the firm's India team in 2018 and transitioned to Singapore in 2020 to help the firm scale up its investing initiatives in ASEAN. He has worked across multiple sectors, including TMT, Real Estate, Healthcare and Financial Services. Prior to joining Warburg Pincus, Devang has worked at The Boston Consulting Group and PwC. He is a Chartered Accountant and has received All India Rank-21 in CA-Final. He holds a B.Com from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata and has also passed all levels of International CFA and Company Secretary. Devang is now heading to The Wharton School of UPenn for his MBA to work towards his aspiration of building profitable businesses that create sustainable solutions for low and middle-income communities. His long term goal is to launch an investment fund aimed at partnering with entrepreneurs and governments across emerging markets including India. Besides contributing capital, he will help entrepreneurs harness technologies, leverage networks and facilitate cross-country learning. He is passionate about mentoring underprivileged children and consulting startups / first-generation entrepreneurs. He is an avid swimmer, amateur runner and a long-time physics enthusiast.
Gourab is currently working as an Analog Design Engineer at Tagore Technology. He is a B.Tech graduate in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST)- Shibpur. Gourab is heading to Purdue for a Ph.D. program. Manoj Ghuhan Arivazhagan
Manoj has completed his B.Tech in Computer Science from IIT Guwahati. He is working as a Research Associate at Adobe Research, India. He has 4 US Patent applications from work at Adobe. He wishes to pursue Master of Computational Data Science from the School of Computer Science at CMU to advance his skills and expand his horizons in the areas of Machine Learning (ML), Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Distributed Computing. He envisions himself as an Applied ML researcher working on real-life problems that can impact the lives of millions in future. Manoj is a very big cricket enthusiast. Naga Lavanya Desiraju
Lavanya is a final year BA (Hons) Economics student at Shri Ram College of Commerce and is now heading to University of Chicago to pursue MA in Social Sciences (Economics Major).
Her long-term goal is to pursue PhD in Economics and become a Professor. Lavanya presented her paper on ‘IT trade between India and US’ at the 4th International Conference on Business, Management, and Economics, in Berlin. Her research paper, ‘The impact of US-China Trade War on SAARC nations’, was published in Strides, SRCC. Lavanya is trained in Kuchipudi dance, veena, Carnatic and Hindustani music. She also plays throwball and kabaddi. Her poems have been published in two books titled ‘The Great Indian Anthology’ and ‘Love, As We Know It’.
Niharika is in her final year of her undergraduate degree pursuing a BSc (Research) in Economics with minors in History and Mathematics at Shiv Nadar University. One of her semesters was pursued at the University of Bologna with 100% tuition fee waiver awarded jointly by Shiv Nadar University and the University of Bologna. She is currently interning at IFMR LEAD and has been promoted to the position of Research Consultant on graduation. She is heading to the University of Oxford this Fall to pursue an MSc in Economics for Development. She intends to complete a PhD and later work as a Professional Economist with international think tanks or various Government bodies while actively taking part in academia. Paridhi graduated from IIT Kanpur in 2018 with a Bachelors’ degree in Electrical Engineering. She is currently working as a Research Associate at Adobe Research, Bangalore where she focuses on identifying and solving impactful research problems and collaborating with product teams to understand their industrial use cases. She has also published her work in top-tier conferences like SIGIR, AAAI, PAKDD and IUI and filed 7 patents at USPTO. She is heading to Stanford University to pursue Masters in Computer Science with a specialisation in Artificial Intelligence. Pratyush completed his B. Tech in Computer Science from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and will be pursuing his Ph.D. program in Machine Learning from Carnegie Mellon University. His career goal is to become a professor and wants to promote Artificial Intelligence among humans by making it more trustworthy. Shashank is currently working as a Scientist-Engineer at the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (ISRO) and has worked on various projects in the field of experimental fluid mechanics, propulsion and thermal characterisation. He has completed his B.Tech in Aerospace Engineering from the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology. He will be pursuing MSc in Environmental Monitoring, Modelling and Reconstruction from the University of Manchester. He is deeply passionate about nature and goes on frequent hikes to observe birds, butterflies and dragonflies. His long-term goals involve the spearheading of nationwide research to better understand the changing climate as part of ISRO. He is a sports and outdoor enthusiast who loves open water swimming and basketball. Shashank is a well-travelled person who has been on expeditions to over 30 countries across all inhabited continents, often to off-the-grid locations. He is also a bibliophile who loves reading works on history.
Siddhant is a BSc (Hons) Chemistry graduate from St. Stephen’s College, University of Delhi. He is heading to the University of Oxford to pursue DPhil in Organic Chemistry with special emphasis on problems pertaining to chemical biology. He envisions employing protein-centric and synthetic approaches to explore newer avenues in the quest for therapeutics and diagnostics. Post course completion, he intends to work in academia and wishes to lead a research group of his own. Vidul graduated with B.Tech in Biotechnology from Vellore Institute of Technology and is currently interning at Viya Enterprise as an Executive assistant. He is heading to Imperial College London for his MSc in Biomedical Engineering. After graduating, he would like to join a research group focusing on tissue engineered organs and later have his own research group or organization that pioneers in lab-grown organ synthesis. Vidushi is an IT graduate from Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology and currently is working with Adobe Systems as a software developer. Aniket Murhekar is currently a fully-funded Ph.D. student studying Theoretical Computer Science at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, where he also works as a Teaching Assistant. He is a co-founder of ASHA, an app created to help individuals and address mental issues around COVID-19 that received multiple accolades. He is also an avid debater and a math fanatic who has published his research related to the Modal Analysis of Turbulence in a reputed conference, (AIAA SciTech)

He is at Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Saint-Etienne (EMSE), University of Lyon, France pursuing PhD in Ultra-Flexible Organic Oxymeter (UFOO). His dream is to pursue PhD and post doctorate in his field and start a lab in India eventually. Jostin has also worked at ISRO and has published an article on H2S gas detection sensors. Kartik is currently pursuing his (Masters' of Advanced Studies) MASt in Applied Mathematical & Theoretical Physics from the University of Cambridge. He has finished his Bachelors in Engineering Physics from IIT-Bombay, and is very passionate about research in Theoretical Physics. Kishen Kudur Shastry
Kishen is a Ph.D. Economics student at the University of Cambridge. He holds an MPhil in Economic Research at Cambridge, in addition, he also holds an Economics degree from The Graduate Institute Geneva, where he was a Hans Wilsdorf Foundation scholar. Kishen was awarded a full scholarship to pursue Liberal Studies at Ashoka University as a Young India Fellow. He holds a Computer Science undergraduate degree from the National Institute of Technology, Karnataka. He was also sponsored by The Fund for American Studies to attend the Asian Institute of Political Economics at Hong Kong University. Manoj Kumar Mahto
Manoj is a Biology postgraduate from Pondicherry University and completed his undergraduation in Zoology from Delhi University. He has previously worked as an aquaculture consultant with CPF India in Kakinada. Manoj is persuing his Masters' in Tropical Marine Biology from University of Essex and post-completion wants to do a PhD focusing on Biofouling and larval ecology. His career goal is to be a Professor at Primer Institutes of India. His master thesis abstract has been selected for the International Indian Ocean Science Conference-2020. Mukund is pursuing a Master of Science in Health Data Science from the Harvard School of Public Health. Ram Smaran Suresh
Ram Smaran is an MSc Economics candidate at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). He holds an undergraduate degree in Economics from Shiv Nadar University. Although he is particularly interested in Development Economics, he is also keen on exploring and reading about other parts of the discipline. He has previously worked as a Research Intern at The Institute for Financial Management and Research (IFMR) LEAD, Chennai and the Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad. In his undergraduate thesis, he studies the distributional impacts of electoral quotas in India. He is a recipient of a 100% merit scholarship at Shiv Nadar University. Vrinda is an economics graduate from Kirori Mal College, Delhi and is currently pursuing Masters' in Public Policy and Development from Paris School of Economics. She will soon start her summer internship with Prof. Karen Macours, an esteemed agriculture economist for her projects with CGIAR (a global agriculture think tank). In future, she wants to be a social entrepreneur in the field of financial literacy. Vrinda did an on-ground study of Open Defecation Free (ODF) status of Ghaziabad city under the Swaccha Bharata Abhiyan program for Niti Ayog. Her research article co-authored with the then Deputy Advisor of the rural development vertical of Niti Ayog, Mr Padma Kant Jha, was published in the journal of the ‘International Conference on Solid and Liquid Waste Management’ and was also published by Springer Nature in the book titled ‘Solid Waste Policies and Strategies: Issues, challenges and case studies'.
Yashaswini is a final year Economics student from St.Stephen's College, Delhi and is now headed to University of Bonn to pursue MSc in Economics. Her passion is research and wants to do a PhD in Economics in the long run. She has worked as a research assistant for Dr Megha Patnaik and Dr Jeff Hammer for their paper titled "Who speaks for the Poor? Participatory Democracy in rural India" which uses World Bank data to analyse how closely preferences of Gram Panchayat members match with those of households in rural Karnataka. She also received the Goutham Krishna fellowship from Stephen's College to conduct research from an economic perspective on caste discrimination in Northern India and has written a paper on the behavioral problem associated with the Monty Hall Problem, which was published in Miranda House's journal Aapoorti (2020 edition). Yashaswini has a keen interest in theatre, having won the award for best actress in Intra- Rajpal, St. Stephen's college; is a state level tennis player and also a Visharad in Hindustani Classical Music.
Aditya is currently a final year Masters' student at Stanford University in the department of Mechanical Engineering. His major interests lie in deep-learning, experiment design and analysis, mechatronics and analysis of Formula-1 races. He likes to devote time to the projects to tackle global issues like energy, climate, etc. with engineering. After graduation, he would like to explore his options and gain exposure in the industry. Anusha is pursuing a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota Twin-Cities. Through her work, she aims to be able to convert low-grade waste heat to electricity using phase transformations in ferroelectric materials. She hopes to build on the skills learned during her doctoral degree to increase the accessibility of technology and to improve the standard of living around the globe. Through her work in the industry, Anusha hopes to lead the revolution for design that offers both quality and affordability to further the cause of sustainable growth. She is also an avid reader.
Arjun is currently pursuing a Masters' in Chemical and Bioengineering at ETH Zurich and graduated from the Institute of Chemical Technology in 2019. His short-term goal is to work in innovative research groups that solve ubiquitous real-world problems. Eventually he aspires to assume leadership positions at Fortune 500 companies such as 3M or DOW, where he intends to lead efforts towards achieving leaner operations and reducing their environmental footprint. He scored a perfect 340/340 in the GRE which is a rare feat and has been named a prestigious Alfred Werner Scholar by the Swiss Chemical Society.
Bhargav completed his B.Chem Engineering at Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai and is currently pursuing Masters' in Chemical and Bioengineering at ETH Zurich. His long term goal is to be an entrepreneur and set up his own industry from scratch. He would like to work with sustainable production in the fields of biotechnology, pharmaceuticals or agriculture. He is an avid reader and uses books as a means of learning about different subjects, especially literature, history and philosophy.
Hardik Patil is currently in the final semester of the MSE in Structural Engineering program at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and is awaiting admission offers for a Ph.D. in structural engineering research. He received his Bachelor of Technology degree (with Honors) in Civil Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. He wishes to pursue a career in industry research and has worked on various research projects on remote sensing, water resources, and analyzing structures under extreme load conditions like hurricanes. At present, his work focuses on the study of novel origami-inspired deployable and reconfigurable systems for the rapid fabrication of complicated surfaces like ship hulls. Outside of the classroom, he volunteered as a student-mentor and served as the Media-Marketing Head for the Entrepreneurship Cell of IIT Bombay. Hardik likes to engage in photography, cooking, books, gaming, and workouts in his free time.
Kriti graduated with a Bachelors' degree in Chemical Engineering from IIT Bombay and worked with IDG Ventures India (now called Chiratae Ventures) as a part of the Investment Team. She is currently pursuing MBA from Harvard Business School. She has also been an active member of various technology groups through college and beyond. After completing her Masters' at Harvard, she plans to get hands on experience of building technology products in the US for a while and then return to India. Her long-term goal is to start her own company in India. She hopes to bring insights from her experience in the US back to India to help create new business opportunities.
Maithili graduated from National University of Juridical Sciences (NUJS) with a B.A. LL.B.(Hons.) degree in 2017 . She served as a judicial clerk at the Supreme Court of India under Justice DY Chandrachud, where she assisted on landmark cases including among others the right to privacy as a fundamental right under the Indian constitution, the constitutional validity of euthanasia and living wills, the constitutionality of provisions criminalising homosexuality and adultery, the constitutionality of the Aadhaar project and the Sabarimala Temple entry prohibition. After graduating with an LL.M .from Harvard Law School in 2020, she was selected as a Harvard Public Service Venture Fund Kaufman Fellow in recognition of her commitment to public interest work. She currently works at the International Service for Human Rights in New York, assisting on strategic litigation and advocacy to support human rights defenders.
Monil hails from New Delhi and graduated from Shri Ram College of Commerce with a BA (Hons) in Economics 2015. She enjoys macroeconomics and finance, and also pursued actuarial science along with her degree. After working with Deutsche Bank post graduation, she joined Central Square Foundation in 2016, where she took up various roles as a Program Manager. Her work focused on government-focused education projects in Delhi and Andhra Pradesh, supporting the strategic expansion of the foundation and venture philanthropy for early stage non-profits. She got accepted for her Masters' at Stanford and Harvard, and joined Stanford given its focus on entrepreneurship and social impact. Post Masters', she is setting up a venture studio, Meraki Labs, aimed at building impactful companies in India. She is also passionate about food - she loves cooking and writing culinary blogs, and is currently doing a project for a global food start-up, Deliveroo.
Namrata Maheshwari is a technology policy advocate. She works with policy organizations, technology companies and government representatives around the world towards strengthening data privacy, security, free speech and access in the digital age. Prior to this, she worked at a premiere corporate law firm in India where she specialized in mergers and acquisitions, and then as a litigator before Indian courts in the area of civil and commercial law. Namrata completed her LL.M. from Columbia Law School, New York, as a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar in 2020. She received her BA., LL.B. (Hons) in 2016 from Jindal Global Law School where she was a recipient of the Shallu Jindal Scholarship for Outstanding Women. She is currently working for Access Now in India.
Prateek holds a graduate degree in B.Tech Production and Industrial Engineering from IIT Roorkee. He worked as a Senior Research Analyst with McKinsey & Company and is currently pursuing MBA from London Business School for his Masters' in Business Administration. Prateek is passionate about the technology sector and believes in its power as a force for good, thereby working extensively with technology startups and investment funds. Outside work, Prateek actively contributes in NGOs working towards solving learning disabilities, youth unemployment and bhopal gas tragedy rehabilitation. Because of his projects, he was amongst the youngest selected as One Young World ambassador from India.
Prathamesh completed his Bachelors' in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from College of Engineering, Pune (COEP) in May 2019. During his 2nd year at COEP, he was selected for the Siemens Student Program, under which he worked in the Switch-gear digital factory at Siemens, Mumbai in the domain of industrial automation and robotics. He did a summer intern at Flytbase - an autonomous drones start-up in Pune. His interests lie in developing intelligent computing systems by leveraging the power of AI in edge computing devices. In addition to working on multiple projects during his Bachelors', he served as the Technical Head at the COEP Amateur Radio Club and has also presented his paper on human posture recognition at the IEEE 8th International Advance Computing Conference. He graduated with a Masters' degree in Computer Engineering from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Currently, he is working with Qualcomm as Software Engineer in US.
Pratyush completed his B.Tech in Engineering Physics from IIT-Madras. He is currently pursing his MSc in High Energy Physics which is a joint master’s degree from ETH Zurich and Ecole Polytechnique, Paris. He would like to pursue a PhD after completing his Master’s and be a part of a research group. Pratyush has worked as an undergraduate Research Assistant at the Institute of High Energy Physics, China. He has travelled to China for his Bachelors' Thesis Project ‘Amplitude Analysis of D-meson decay modes’. His project at CERN was instrumentation based where he worked with the ATLAS Collaboration on the calibration techniques involved in the ATLAS Tile Calorimeter.
Preksha is working as a Research Associate at a poverty alleviation think-tank affiliated with MIT after completing her Masters in International and Development Economics from Yale University (part of the fortunate cohort that graduated during the peak of the pandemic). She completed her undergraduate studies in Economics from Hans Raj College, Delhi University and worked as an Associate at Bain & Company for two years before heading to Yale. Preksha’s interest lies in using data to provide innovative solutions to socio-economic problems faced by developing countries, and through her work, she would like to catalyze the shift towards evidence-based policymaking. She is currently working with Prof. Tavneet Suri on a long-running Universal Basic Income experiment in Kenya, primarily involved in data collection, visualization, and analysis; her Master's thesis evaluated the impact of the alcohol prohibition policy on crime in Bihar and her earlier projects include the analysis of inflation trends in the Indian rural-urban context and a report on the state of infrastructure in India. Outside of academics, she dabbles in music, enjoys coffee, and finds time to go trekking in the Himalayas (lately exploring hiking trails in the Northeast US).
Rishabh graduated with a B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Delhi, where he developed an inclination for economics and social policy. Rishabh is currently pursuing MSc in Economics at the London School of Economics (LSE), where he is researching on Indian farm sector, labour laws and international coffee chains with different research teams at London. He is an avid film-enthusiast and has extensively participated in various film making, quizzing and appreciation events.
Ritwick Chaudhry is currently working as an Applied Scientist at Amazon, Palo Alto. He completed his Masters' in Computer Science at the Carnegie Mellon University and bachelors from IIT Mumbai with a degree in B.Tech (Hons.) in Computer Science & Engineering in 2018. He has earlier worked at Adobe Research for a year, with focus on understanding semantics of visual content. Being broadly interested in the field of Computer Vision and Machine Learning, he has worked in visual question answering and 3D reconstruction, with 9 publications in top conferences, 1 issued and 4 filed patents. He is especially passionate about improving how machines perceive the 3D world around us. Ritwick aims at pursuing a PhD, with the eventual goal of improving how machines comprehend the world around us visually.
Sachin, originally from Pune, completed Bachelors' in Chemical Engineering from the Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), Mumbai, in May 2019. During his Bachelors' course, he completed three internships and also co-authored a review paper for risk assessment in the chemical industry. He joined the Process Engineering MSc course at ETH Zurich in September 2019, where he completed a semester project and the Masters' thesis in the fields of Carbon Capture and Utilization (CCU) and Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS), respectively. He is now doing an industrial internship at a company in Zurich as part of his course. He has also completed German language training upto level B2 and is now preparing for level C1. Sachin intends to join the chemical industry after the completion of his Masters' degree program.
Shashwata graduated with distinction from BITS Pilani in 2018 with a major in Chemical Engineering. Following graduation, she pursued research at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras under the guidance of Prof. Pushpavanam. Her work on the self-assembly of inorganic nano-crystals was selected for presentation at Elsevier's International Colloids Conference in Sitges, Spain and was awarded second place in the poster-presentation competition at AIChE's ChemPlus-'19 at IIT, Madras. At UC San Diego, she is pursuing materials research geared towards semiconductor-device fabrication and development.
Utkarsh completed his undergraduate studies in Civil Engineering at IIT Bombay and Masters' in Structural Engineering at the University of California Berkeley. Currently he is working in structural engineering firm in US. After graduation he may want to pursue his interests in research either in the industry or academia which has influenced his choice of University. Utkarsh was a visiting researcher at Purdue University and worked with the research group on steel-concrete composites. He loves reading fiction, autobiographies, historical accounts and news snippets. A fitness enthusiast, he has won several medals in aquatics and is also a regular runner.
Varun completed his B.Tech Electrical Engineering at IIT Delhi. He is currently pursuing an MS in Electrical Engineering at Stanford University. Post his Masters' he aims to obtain a Doctoral degree and do state of the art research in the following subfields of Electrical Engineering i.e. information theory and deep learning, in a way that meaningfully impacts human lives. He has been a recipient of the Merit Award for all semesters at IIT Delhi and the Qualcomm Research Innovation Fellowship.
Abhijeet completed his BE in Mechanical Engineering from University of Pune. Following his graduation, he interned at Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and subsequently at Godrej & Boyce Pvt Ltd in 2018. He then pursued his Masters' in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University with a specialization in robotics. He is currently working at a robotics startups Everestlabs.ai, where he builds robotic solutions for the recycling industry. He hopes to return to India to pursue his ambition of developing products and services which can have a lasting impact on lives of people.
Aditya's mission is to give people more time for meaningful activities by creating scalable, accessible, time-saving technology. His past work includes swarm robotics research at the University of Southern California, two Japanese exchange projects with Tottori University, and developing algorithms for India's first passively stabilized satellite, Swayam. His current focus is democratizing artificial intelligence with Microsoft's cloud platform, Azure. He earned a Bachelor's in Computer Engineering from the College of Engineering Pune and a Master's in Computer Sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is currently working as Software Engineer at Microsoft in USA.
Amit graduated with a gold medal for being first in order of merit from College of Engineering, Pune in 2017 with a degree in Metallurgy and Materials Science Engineering. He is pursuing his Master's in Materials Science from ETH, Zurich. His long term goal is to be a researcher in the field of materials science in an academic setting.
Anupam is currently working as a Research Scientist with Amazon developing tech products for Amazon's global network. He specializes in solving problems related to Natural Language Processing and Optimization. In his previous role at Amazon, he was credited with developing Railways as the third mode of transport which fetched him two awards from Global VP. Prior to this, Anupam worked as a Research Scientist at Indian Institute of Science (IISc). At IISc, he was part of multi-institutional effort which included IITs and ISRO to develop ultra-high-temperature materials and novel structures, which resulted in 20+ peer reviewed publications with Anupam as the lead author. He graduated among top 10% of the class from Indian School of Business and BITS Pilani. He is passionate about contributing towards education of kids from underprivileged backgrounds. He is an environment conservationist and takes pride in cycling every day for work as well as personal commute.
Archana graduated with a Bachelors degree in Electronics and Instrumentation engineering from VIT University Vellore. She was the second rank holder in University and was awarded VIT’s Merit scholarship during all 4 years of her engineering program. She was a part of a project on "Development of Artificial Pancreas for Type 1 Diabetes Patients in India" at IISc, Bangalore. Archana is keen on pursuing her Master's in Biomedical Engineering at Johns Hopkins University. Upon completion of her Master's, she wants to work in computational biomedicine. She aims to combine her engineering skill set with computational techniques for developing affordable diagnostic devices. She believes that her motivation to serve the society will drive her towards achieving her goal of “timely diagnosis of diseases for all".
Devina is a graduate from National Law University, Delhi. She completed her Master of Law (LLM) at the University of Cambridge. Devina’s interest lies in the area of criminal and constitution law. In law school, she worked as a researcher for the Death Penalty Research Project carried out by National Law University, Delhi. Upon graduation, she has worked as Law Clerk cum Research Assistant with Justice Kurian Joseph at the Supreme Court of India. Gorish completed his MS in Electrical Engineering at Stanford University with a research focus in Computational Neuroscience and Artificial Intelligence. Suring his masters, he was the course instructor for the graduate course on Linear Dynamical Systems (EE 263) and also worked on Stanford Artificial Retina project under Prof. EJ Chichilnisky to develop an electronic implant that will restore vision to people blinded by incurable retinal disease. Currently, he is working as Virtual Software Engineer at Stanford University. He also has a deep-rooted interest in entrepreneurship and dabbles in multiple domains including retail, fintech, and education. An IIT Delhi graduate, he has co-authored various research publications and filed multiple patents. Noopur has completed her graduation from Shri Ram College of Commerce with a B.A in Economics (Honours) and completed post graduate combined degree in law and public policy (i.e. Juris Doctor & Master in Public Administration in International Development) from Harvard University. She wants to forge a career that exploits instruments from both disciplines to attain a deeper understanding of why inequalities come to be and to improve policy responses – both in conception and execution. Parth has done his under-graduate studies from ICT Mumbai where he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering. He is now going to pursue a PhD from University of California, Santa Barbara. His desire is to do research on developing clean, renewable sources of energy and sustainable, green chemical processes by creating a nexus with Catalysis and Materials Science during his PhD. After completing his PhD he would want to work for sometime in the US industry and then come back to India to start a business.
Prineeta is a native of Mumbai, India, and graduated from the MBA program at Harvard Business School in May 2020. She is currently part of the Business Leadership Development Program at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, a science-driven biotechnology company in New York, and supports New Product Planning for early-stage cancer immunotherapies. Rahul Singh Chauhan
Rahul completed MSc. Economics from the London School of Economics in 2019 with a distinction. After graduating master's, he joined CAFRAL, Reserve Bank of India as a Research Associate and worked on research projects in banking, macroeconomics and monetary policy. He would be joining the Fama Miller Center for Research in Finance at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business as a Research Professional from June 2021. He seeks to pursue a PhD in Financial Economics in the future.
Ronak Mehta is currently a Vice President at Warburg Pincus where he is focused on investments in India. Previously, Ronak worked as an Associate at Saif Partners where he looked at early and growth stage investments in India. He started his career as a Consultant at The Boston Consulting Group (BCG). Ronak holds a Dual Degree (B.Tech + M.Tech) in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, and he received an MBA from The Wharton Business School, where he was a Palmer Scholar.
Shreshtha graduated from the University of Oxford with an MPhil in Economics in 2020 (Merit). Prior to this, she completed a Bachelors in Economics from Miranda House, University of Delhi (Distinction). She is now working at Vivid Economics, an environmental economics consulting firm in London. She works in the Climate Strategy and Growth & Development pillars at the company.
Having worked on several domestic arbitrations with a Delhi based law firm for a year and clerked with a Supreme Court judge for two years thereafter, Surya decided to pursue his LLM at Georgetown University Law Center in International Arbitration. Working, presently, as a Judicial Fellow with Judge Charles N. Brower (arbitrator), he plans on building his practice in the field of international commercial and investment arbitration.
Utkarsh is a Consultant at the Boston Consulting Group’s Washington DC office. He holds a Master in Constitutional Law from Harvard Law School and Master in International Development Economics from Harvard Kennedy School. Before graduate school, he practiced law before the Supreme Court of India and worked as a Consultant to Dr. Arvind Subramanian when he was Chief Economic Adviser to the Government of India. Utkarsh plans to return to legal and policy practice at the intersection of law and development economics in a few years.
Vishesh Vikram Singh
Vishesh completed his Bachelors' from Thapar University in Civil Engineering and then worked at Larsen & Toubro for two years. He has completed his Masters in Civil Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley. He has been involved in several research projects related to Lean Construction funded by the Nation Science Foundation and Facebook. Vishesh is now continuing his research at Berkeley as a Ph.D. student, working on developing a data-driven approach to on-site construction production design and control using indoor localization technologies and lean production techniques. Apart from the AEC industry, he has interests in photography, filmmaking, and trekking. In the long run, he wants to improve the way the industry interacts with humans involved in constructing, operating, and utilizing the built environment.
Abhinav has done his LLB from National Law School of India University, Bangalore where he graduated with Honours and completed his LLM from Harvard University. After completing his graduate studies he returned to India to teach and practice criminal law and procedure, and currently works as an associate in the chambers of Mr. Siddharth Aggarwal. Abhinav also runs a blog called ‘The Proof of Guilt’, which discusses issues of Indian criminal law and procedure in a simple and accessible manner to help create awareness. Besides the law, he loves to read fiction and history, listen to music and play football.
Aditi has done her BA in Biological Sciences from Barnard College, Columbia University and graduated with a full-time MBA, focusing on healthcare and entrepreneurship, from MIT Sloan in June 2019 where she was a recipient of the Shivan S. Subramaniam Fellowship and Henry DuPont III MBA Achievement Award. She aspires to develop innovative health technology products, with the hope of improving the lives of those at the bottom of the pyramid in India and abroad. In keeping with that, she is currently managing the India operations of DaytoDay Health, an acute care management company founded at MIT that aspires to provide holistic and virtualised surgical recovery to patients. Her work experience prior to MBA includes strategy consulting roles at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, The Boston Consulting Group and Archstone Consulting. She is an adventurous soul who loves yoga, swimming, running, and is a certified recreational deep sea diver.
Anshuman is currently working as a Structural Engineer in the Netherlands after graduating from Delft University of Technology, Netherlands. He did his undergraduate studies from NIT Jaipur and then later served as a Project Technical Assistant at IIT Bombay. He is passionate about the application of exponential technologies like Machine Learning, VR and AR in the learning process. Alongside his profession of Structural Engineering, he is currently working on his startup aimed at utilizing these technologies to revolutionize learning in schools, universities and companies by making immersive and customizable educational content based games and simulations. Besides, he is also working on his another startup aimed at utilizing parametric numerical analysis in parametric design of 3D printed structures. In the next few years he is also considering exploring the field of extra terrestrial structural engineering for human settlements beyond earth. He believes in the power of collaboration and teamwork to make a remarkable contribution to the world and is therefore open for potential collaborative opportunities for his own startup.
Arundhati Nayudu Kona
Arundhati graduated from UC Berkeley School of Law with a Master of Laws degree. She passed the California Bar exam and is currently working with an Immigration Law Firm in San Francisco. She is deeply compassionate towards stray animals and helps raise funds for an animal welfare organization, run by her Uncle in Bhopal, India.
Barun completed his under-graduate studies at IIT Delhi, graduating with a B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering with a departmental specialisation in Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence, and his Masters' in Machine Learning from Carnegie Mellon University. He is currently working as an Applied Scientist on the Turing team at Microsoft, where his primary focus is on building multilingual models to support different scenarios in numerous languages. He's been a TA for Machine Learning at CMU, and AI at IIT Delhi, and enjoys teaching, reading and playing racquet sports.
Divyansh has earned his B.E in Computer Engineering from Thapar University, Patiala along with a Masters' from Carnegie Mellon University. He is now a PhD candidate at Carnegie Mellon focusing on creating robust machine learning methods for natural language processing. His work received a Best Paper Award at EMNLP 2018 held in Brussels and he was also selected for a Spotlight talk at ICLR 2020 in Addis Ababa. He has served as the Director of Legislative Affairs for the National Association of Graduate-Professional Students, and is currently also serving as the Vice President for External Affairs for the Carnegie Mellon University Graduate Student Assembly. He has led multiple advocacy trips to Washington DC to meet with lawmakers regarding various issues impacting graduate students. In August of 2018, he was chosen by the American Association for Advancement of Science for a "Force for Science" spotlight.
Eeshani obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai and is currently pursuing a fully funded PhD in Chemical Engineering at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities under the guidance of Dr David Poerschke. Presently, her research is focused on the design and development of ceramic coatings used for gas turbines and jet engines. Her previous research project at ICT under the supervision of Dr P.K. Ghosh focused on improving water and detergent usage efficiency for household laundry machines. They have filed for an Indian patent for their work. After her PhD, she hopes to start her own industrial consultancy in India with an affiliated chain of laboratories. She wishes to make these labs accessible to graduate students to strengthen the industry-academics synergy. Eeshani is an avid reader, a Bharatnatyam dancer and enjoys travelling.
Kedar is a Data Scientist at Ketos, a startup that helps organizations solve operational challenges in water quality monitoring and management. Kedar develops data-driven solutions for Ketos' partners to enable them to use their water resources smartly. He is interested in empowering stakeholders with data-driven and fact-based decision-making. Kedar earned his Bachelor's degree from ICT, Mumbai, followed by a Master's degree from Carnegie Mellon University, both in Chemical Engineering. While working on his Master's thesis project, he worked in collaboration with Air Liquide to forecast the performance of chemical reactors using data-driven methods. In his free time, he takes drumming lessons and reading books about history.
Madhav has received his formal education at Hansraj College, University of Delhi, and Worcester College, University of Oxford with a BA and MPhil degree in Economics, respectively. He has worked as a research assistant at the Centre for Economic Performance, LSE (alongside his Masters') on several policy-relevant issues, with the purpose of understanding what are the policies that enable or support structural transformation in developing countries. Currently, he is working with the International Growth Centre in Myanmar on quantifying the spill over effects of Special Economic Zones (SEZs). Madhav wants to continue working at the intersection of academia and policy.

Prior to GGV Capital, Madhu has worked in India and Africa at Dalberg (social impact management consulting firm), the Ethiopian government, and a startup that commercializes transformative technologies for social impact. Madhu has graduated with a Bachelors' in Technology from IIT Kharagpur and an MBA and MS from Stanford University, with Arjay Miller Scholar distinction - Awarded to the academically top 10% of the class. Pritesh graduated with Masters' in Electrical Engineering from University of Texas, Austin. Currently he is working as GPU RTL DesignerApple Inc., Austin, Texas. Originally from Nashik, Pritesh completed his B.Tech, in Electronics and Telecommunication from College of Engineering, Pune. As an undergraduate, Pritesh was involved in development of “Swayam” student satellite which was launched in space by ISRO on 22nd June 2016. After his B.Tech, he worked as an RTL design engineer in semiconductor industry for two years. In future, he plans to develop a fabless semiconductor company in India. Pritesh is also a part of Guinness world record for maximum people solving the Rubik’s Cube at one time. He has organized blood donation drives and is fond of music and stargazing.
Ritika is currently working in London as an economic consultant. She has completed her MPhil in Economics at Oxford University and her Bachelors' in Economics (B.A) from the University of Delhi. At Oxford, her research looked at innovations in the field of micro finance.She is a keen badminton player, loves reading and enjoys debates.
Shailee is a university gold medalist from NITK, Surathkal. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Computer Science at the University of Texas at Austin. Her research lies at the intersection of machine learning and computational neuroscience, specifically focusing on language processing in the brain.She frequently collaborates with Google research and Intel research, and recently organized the workshop on ‘Context & Compositionality in biological and artificial systems’ at NeurIPS’19 . Through her research, Shailee hopes to understand cognitive systems, both biological and artificial, and ultimately use them in tandem to build better, smarter AI. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering at blind schools, playing with rescue animals and contemplating the human condition.
Shreeyash is a litigating lawyer from New Delhi and is presently practising in the High Court and Supreme Court. He has completed his under-graduation in B.Tech from IIT Guwahati, LLB from Delhi University and LLM from University of Cambridge. At Cambridge, he was awarded the Pegasus Scholarship by Inner Temple and was the Editor of the Cambridge International Law Journal. Outside of work, he is a chess and football enthusiast.
Unnati graduated from Miranda House College of Delhi University with a B.Sc. in Physics. Supported by the NSF scholarship she pursued an M.Sc. in Mathematical and Theoretical Physics from Oxford University (2017-18). After graduating, she briefly worked as a science communicator at Cactus communications where she pursued her desire to deciphering current research and sharing them with the world in creative and curious ways. She is now pursuing her Ph.D. in high energy theoretical physics as a Mildred Dresselhaus fellow at Penn State University to delve deeper into the mysteries of the universe, in particular, open quantum systems applied to early universe and extreme systems like black holes. Unnati has multiple educational films that are uploaded on YouTube and Physics-comics (Phymics) on her website - “Fatal Physics”. In the future, she hopes to contribute to the field of fundamental science as well as education; to use her knowledge and excitement to impart the same in others
Vikram is from Bangalore and holds a Masters' in Public Administration in International Development from Harvard University, and a B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from IIT Madras. He currently works at the Boston Consulting Group in Washington DC, but his interest is in politics, especially in Bangalore, and in ways to build social and economic systems which enable people to flourish. Earlier, he has worked with the Accountability Initiative at the Centre for Policy Research, New Delhi. Vikram is a public transport enthusiast and tries to cycle everywhere. Agneya has a Bachelors' in Civil Engineering (IIT Bombay '16) and a Masters' in Sustainable Design and Construction (Stanford '18). At Stanford, he specialized in construction management, urban planning and industrialized construction. Agneya is currently working as a Business Analyst at DPR Construction. In this role his team investigates challenges with company wide processes, procedures and IT tools and drives continuous improvement. Prashanth Bhupendera Ramakrishnan
Prashanth is a gold medallist graduate in Mechanical Engineering from NIT Karnataka, Surathkal currently employed as a Packaging R&D Engineer in Intel Corp., USA. He received a Masters' degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan (UoM), Ann Arbor, where he was a recipient of the William Mirsky Memorial Fellowship for academic and research excellence. At UoM, he worked on engineering laser-aided lightweighting methods for various applications. He is currently based in Houston, Texas and is working as an engineer at Aspen Technology. Mustafa is a Chemical Engineer working at the cutting edge of climate change remediation technologies. He is currently scaling new lithium extraction processes at Lilac Solutions Inc., (named as the 2021 Cleantech Early stage company of the year). He has previously worked in the biotech space developing carbon neutral fuels and discovering a novel polymer recycling technology. A BSc Economics (Hons) graduate from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata, Sanyam secured a Distinction in MSc in Economics programme at LSE. Saurav is currently the Chief of Staff to the President of MSD Human Health Asia Pacific. Prior to this, he served as an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company in Boston and New York, where he focused on biopharma and medical technology. Gulika Reddy is a human rights lawyer and the Founder & Director of Schools of Equality, a non-profit organization in India that runs activity-based programs in schools with the aim to shift social attitudes that perpetuate gender-based violence and other forms of identity-based discrimination. She has worked with lawyers and non-profits and academic institutions in India to prevent and respond to gender-based violence by representing women in court, conducting rights-awareness and sensitization programs, reporting human rights violations, leading advocacy efforts, and working towards mainstreaming human rights education in India. She is currently the Senior Clinical Teaching Fellow at Columbia Law School's Human Rights Clinic.

Dr. Manasi Sharma is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Departments of Emergency Medicine, Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medicine School, as well as in the Peace and Human Rights Data project at the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative, where she works on public health and peacebuilding in humanitarian settings. Her current research focuses on war-related violence, justice, resilience, and Ebola-related attitudes and behaviors in the Democratic Republic of Congo. She has a PhD from the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health, where her research encompassed mixed-methods studies of trauma and mental health in South Sudan, Liberia, Somalia, and Sierra Leone; increasing adherence to antiretroviral treatment for HIV+ adolescents in Rwanda; and impact evaluations of hospital systems strengthening programs in Liberia. She has Masters' in clinical psychology and human rights law, and her research interests include global mental health, complex interventions in humanitarian contexts, child and adolescent health, psychiatric epidemiology, psychometrics, human-centered design and medical anthropology.

Charag is an Associate Partner with McKinsey & Company in the New Jersey office and leads the Public and Social Sector Practice. He also led the setup and scale up of McKinsey Social Initiative’s Generation program operations in India to enable its spin-odd as an independent, non-profit entity. An Electronics Engineer from NIT Bhopal, he served as a primary school teacher with Teach for India and developed the CSR education roadmap for Bharat Petroleum before pursuing his MBA at Kellogg School of Management. Subsequently as a UNICEF Innovation Unit Fellow he worked on CHW Backpack Plus which was named among 10 game changing innovations in Global Health. Darshan Shah, an Assistant Professor at the Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Bombay, primarily focusses on research and teaching in orthopaedic biomechanics. With a strong background in engineering design, coupled with an avid interest in human anatomy, he delves into how joints of the body function. A close collaboration with surgeons, clinicians and the industry aids in translating his scientific research to benefit the community.
Darshan recently completed his postdoctoral research in biomechanics from the Institute for Orthopaedic Research and Training at KU Leuven, Belgium, where he led a team of engineers to quantify alterations on lower limb joint behaviour before and after surgical interventions. Prior to this, he received his PhD in Bioengineering at Imperial College London, where he developed a wrist simulator - a machine which could replicate motions of a normal wrist in dead specimens! He has also worked on novel implants for lower-limb amputees during his MSc at Imperial College London, and patented a knee arthroplasty implant customised for the Indian population during his dual degree (B.Tech, M.Tech) at IIT Bombay
Karan Vikram Rao
After graduating from H. R. College of Commerce & Economics, University of Mumbai, Karan worked with TresVista Financial Services Pvt. Ltd. as a Financial Analyst for 3 years. He then joined Indian School of Business (Hyderabad) to pursue his MBA in Finance and Strategy after which he took up a role with Deloitte as a Strategy Consultant. He spent 5 years in the US working with CFO organisations of Fortune 500 trying to optimise their operations. Wodehouse, this dual degree holder in Aerospace Engineering from IIT Bombay completed a Masters' in Management Science & Engineering from Stanford in April 2014. At Stanford, Rajhansa was a consultant for Stanford Consulting. He was also a member of the University’s Judicial Affairs panel and tutored learning-disabled students. Niranjini Rajagopal is a Research Scientist at Amazon. She got her PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. Prior to joining Carnegie Mellon University, she worked in industry for three years and received a Bachelors' degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Trichy, India. Her research is in the area of networked embedded sensing technologies. During her PhD, her work won the International Microsoft Indoor Localization Competition in 2015 and 2018. She was a Graduate Teaching Fellow at the Eberly Center for Teaching Excellence and Educational Innovation at CMU. She received the CMU William S. Dietrich II Presidential PhD Fellowship in 2015 and the Samsung PhD Fellowship in internet of things area in 2016. She was among the MIT EECS Rising Stars in 2018.
Pranav has completed his Masters' in Preventive Veterinary Medicine from the University of California, Davis, and Ph.D. in veterinary epidemiology from the French National Institute of Agriculture Research. Currently, he is working as a Researcher in One Health Institute, School of Veterinary Medicine, University of California, Davis. His research expertise lies in the mathematical modeling of infectious diseases of wildlife, livestock, and humans. Pranav's recent research investigates environmental factors associated with the distribution of zoonotic pathogens in animal populations using innovative machine learning approaches. He also has experience in large-scale agent-based models to quantify mechanisms of transmission for livestock pathogens and optimize mitigation strategies.
Romit Arun Mehta
Romit Mehta graduated with a B.A. in Economics from St. Xavier’s College Mumbai. He went on to graduate with a Postgraduate Diploma in Economics from University of Cambridge. He worked as a consultant at Dalberg Global Development Advisors advising governments, multilateral agencies, corporates and foundations on international development across India and Africa. He subsequently joined the Prime Minister's Office in Ethiopia where he led priority projects from the PMO including accelerating cereal exports and national storage strategy for the country. Surabhi completed her B.A.L.L.B (Hons) in Law from NLSIU, Bangalore. She went on to UCLA to pursue her LL.M. in Public Interest Law, Gender and Sexuality. While at UCLA, she interned with the American Civil Liberties Union of Southern California.Thereafter, she worked at the Supreme Court of India before joining Jindal Global Law School as an Assistant Professor of Law and an Assistant Director of the Centre for Health Law, Ethics and Technology for three years. She was awarded the IASSCS- Ford Emerging Scholars’ International Research Fellowship 2014. Through this fellowship, she has conducted the first of its kind study on the experiences of queer students during their school life in India. This project has since won the Jack Collins Social Action Bursary of the Oriel College, Oxford in 2017. Bindu has completed her Bachelors' in Mechanical Engineering from the NIT, Surathkal. Kshitij Saxena is the CEO and co-founder of Autoninja, India’s largest Auto CRM. Kshitij started Autoninja in 2013, raised 2 rounds of venture financing, got the company to profitability and exited to ICICI Lombard in a rare all-cash deal in 2019. Autoninja was Kshitij’s second startup. Before this, Kshitij started a gaming studio, 5Shells, that did not pan out. Currently, Kshitij is a Vice President at ICICI Lombard. Rohit earned his BTech in Electronics & Telecommunication from College of Engineering, Pune. He went on to complete the Masters' course in Media Technology, Media Lab at MIT and received the Starting Bloc Fellowship and the Center for Future Storytelling Fellowship. Vinod Kumar Ramchandran

Raunak is currently working at Amazon, in their Seattle headquarters, as a Senior Research Scientist. He builds mathematical models and algorithms to crunch Big Data and improve Amazon’s business efficiency, profitability and customer experience.
After completing his Computer Science degree from Stanford in data mining and systems, Roshan went on to work at LinkedIn and Coursera where he led various data products and infrastructure initiatives. He is now part of the AI group at Facebook, leading various teams focused on Computer Vision.
A B.Tech in Electronics & Telecommunications from the College of Engineering, Pune, Sumeet completed his Ph.D in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of Wisconsin, Madison. His research lies in the area of multi-armed bandits and its applications to learning user preferences. He is currently an Applied Scientist at Amazon Search in Palo Alto.
Treta completed her Masters' in Public Health at the Johns Hopkins University. She then pursued an MD in Internal Medicine and the New York Medical College, followed by a fellowship in Gastroenterology. During her training she received various accolades for teaching and research and is now a well cited author. She is currently the Medical Director of San Jose Gastroenterology. She is a busy clinician in the community, helping solve and prevent gastrointestinal issues. She is also a medical advisor for a health care start up, BigDieta. The start up aims to use data analytics and machine learning to help people with chronic GI issues. She lives in the Bay Area with her husband and enjoys traveling , hiking and Netflix! She is looking forward to connecting with the future members of the Narotam Sekhsaria family, especially those who end up in SF Bay area.
A B.E. in Instrumentation & Control from the Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology at Delhi, Vidya went on to complete a Masters' Programme in Electrical & Computer Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology. Vidya then joined Luton Electronics as a Senior Project Electrical Engineer. For the past 5 years, she has since moved to working with Apple in the Hardware Test Engineering group as a System Design Engineer.
Abhishek completed his Bachelors' in Biomedical Science from the University of Delhi followed by a Postgraduate Diploma in Molecular and Biochemical Technology from the same university. He then completed a Masters' programme in Biology from the University of Utah, Salt Lake City in 2016. He is a co-founder and contributing editor for IndSciComm, a science communicative collective.
Chandresh completed his MS in Mechanical Engineering from Polytechnic Institute of NYU (NYU Tandon SoE). He received Dean's Research Scholarship for all the semesters during his Masters'. He published two book chapters and a journal paper based on his Masters' thesis research. After graduating he worked at Beltran Technologies in NYC as Mechanical Engineer where he designed structural and electromechanical systems for wet electrostatic precipitation systems. He worked at Ocean Power Technologies in New Jersey as Sr. Mechanical Engineer where he was involved in designing and developing innovative WEC (Wave Energy Converters) systems that convert ocean wave energy into electrical energy. Currently, he is working as Staff Engineer at AP Mechanical.
An alumnus of the prestigious St. Stephen’s College, New Delhi, Harshet graduated from the University of Oxford with a Masters' in Mathematics and Computers. He has worked with Merrill Lynch, Boston Consulting Group and Endeavor Global prior to joining Milvik (a Swedish startup involved in providing micro insurance in emerging markets through a mobile platform) where he served as the Country Director (Indonesia). He is the founder of Qaola, an insure-tech company.
Janardhan is a 2007 Narotam Sekhsaria scholar. He obtained his MS and PhD in Mechanical Engineering and Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA in 2013. During his PhD, he interned at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (California) and Robert Bosch LLC (Detroit). Thereafter he worked as a scientist at the Center for Transportation Research at Argonne National Laboratory (Chicago) for five years, where he led program development efforts to apply supercomputing and machine learning to rapidly optimize internal combustion engine designs. His efforts led to a $750,000 grant from the US Department of Energy. He has over twenty five academic publications in conferences and journals, and has also authored a book chapter. His papers have been cited about 500 times by researchers from across the world. In July 2018, he moved to Cummins Inc. (based in Columbus, Indiana), the largest diesel engine manufacturer in the world. He is a technical manager at Cummins Corporate Research leading a team of engineers supporting various engine development programs. He also leads performance development for a high-impact diesel electric hybrid program, and previously led the performance development for North America and Europe medium duty diesel engines, and an Advanced Combat Engine for US Military tanks. Janardhan lives in Indianapolis with his wife and one-year old daughter.
Kartik pursued a Masters' in Micro-Nanosystems from ETH Zurich. Subsequently, he completed his PhD in implantable medical devices at the Multi Scale Robotics Lab, ETH Zurich in June 2013. After working at MSRL till the end of 2013, he became one of the first employees in the quality engineering division of the newly formed medical device company, DePuy-Synthes, at Basel. He is currently a medical device platform leader working at Novartis Pharma in Basel.
Shreya graduated with a BA in Economics and Statistics from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai. She was then admitted to the University of Oxford, where she completed her Masters' in Financial Economics. After graduating, Shreya worked at a boutique consultancy specializing in corporate finance. She is currently based in London and is Senior Vice President in the investment team at Partners Group, a global private markets asset manager headquartered in Switzerland.
Sudeep Tandon was awarded the NSF scholarship to pursue a Masters' programme in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University. He was the recipient of the Outstanding Graduate Student Award in 2009. After graduating in March 2009, he joined DHL Consulting in Germany as a Management Consultant. He currently works as Vice President, Airfreight Product Development at DHL. He also is a visiting lecturer at International University of Bad Honnef, Germany.
Tushar finished his undergraduate studies in India from IIT Roorkee. Since 2007, he is settled in the United States. He holds a Masters' degree in Mathematics from Cornell and a JD-MBA from Northwestern University in Chicago. He currently works at Robert W Baird as an Investment Banker in Chicago. In his free time, Tushar likes exploring new restaurants in the city and biking along the lake.
Vignesh completed his Masters' in Computation for Design and Optimization from MIT, Cambridge. He joined RGM Advisors LLC after completing the course in 2009. He worked as a Quantitative Researcher responsible for developing high frequency trading algorithms. After working with RGM for a little over 7 years, he worked at Graham Capital Management a hedge fund based in CT working on short term alpha strategies for 3 years. He currently works in trade execution at Millennium Partners, NYC.
Hardik was awarded the NSF scholarship to study MS in Operations Research from the University of Cornell. Having completed the course in the year 2007, he also received the best Master’s of Engineering project award in the same year for his exuberant project on School Bus Routing. This was followed by a job at Capgemini Consulting where he focused on delivering Telecommunication projects for clients. Currently he is a Manager at Deloitte Consulting handling various commercial and public sector projects
A B.A. in Economics from Lady Shri Ram College, New Delhi, Ishita was admitted to the Masters' programme in Economics course at the London School of Economics. Currently, she is the Head of Finance and Commercial at The Kraft Heinz Company.
After completing his B E Electronics from Fr. Conceicao Rodrigues College of Engineering, University of Mumbai, Nihar joined the MSEE course at the University of Minnesota. He is now working with Intel as a CAD Engineer
A B.Tech in Computer Science from IIT Bombay, Nikhil went on to complete an MS in Computer Science from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Thereafter, he joined Google in 2008 and is working as a Senior Software Engineer with the Cluster Management Group. Nikhil has also started a company called IDO Technologies which is based out of Mumbai.
After completing his MPhil in Engineering for Sustainable Development from University of Cambridge, Nitin joined Cargill Corporation's European Power, Gas and Emissions Trading business in London where he invested in carbon mitigation projects. He then turned entrepreneur by founding CaliforniaCarbon.info, a data analytics website, that was later acquired by a US based financial consulting company. He then founded and ran his next venture, Climate Connect Technologies, applying Artificial Intelligence in renewable energy before it got acquired by NASDAQ listed Renew Power. He lives in London with his wife and lovely little daughter.
A B.E. in Computer Science, Padmini worked as a Research Assistant at IIT Bombay before she went on to do a Master’s programme in Computer Science from Stony Brook University. After graduating in 2007, Padmini has been working as a Software Analyst for Morgan Stanley and is working in the Prime Brokerage division at present.
After completing a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from D. J. Sanghvi College of Engineering in Mumbai, Saurav completed his MBA programme from IIM Ahmedabad in 2008. He subsequently interned with Lumis Partners. Currently, Saurav is based in Singapore working across the Greater Asia Pacific region with Oliver, a global management consulting firm in the Corporate and Investment Banking space.
This Jerold Ruth Loebl scholar has completed her Master’s in Architecture from the Illinois Institute of Technology in 2008. While Smita has the honour of being nominated for the Schiff Scholarship, she has the distinction of receiving the women’s architect honorary mention. Akshay is currently the Chief Product Office and Senior Vice President of Product at nearbuy. He is responsible for defining and driving product vision, strategy and execution at nearbuy. Akshay is a Silicon Valley veteran with over 10 years of experience in the consumer internet and technology space. He spent close to 7 years at Google where he worked on initiatives ranging across Global Computing Infrastructure, Google Cloud Platform, Analytics and Social. Prior to joining nearbuy, Akshay served as the Director of Mobile Product at Flipkart where he led the product development across Flipkart’s consumer facing Mobile Applications through its exponential growth phase in the two years 2014-2015. Akshay holds a Master’s Degree in Management from Stanford and a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Madras.
After completing her BSc in Life-Sciences from St. Xavier’s college in Mumbai, Divya completed MSc and then PhD in Immunology at the University of Oxford, UK in January 2010. She worked as a post-doctoral scholar and then as a Research Specialist at the University of California, San Francisco, in the Department of Paediatrics, until February 2017. She joined Roche Diagnostics International Ltd in Switzerland in May 2017 as a Clinical Science Associate and currently holds the position of Clinical Evidence Leader, based in Malaysia.
Gaurav is a B. Tech from IIT Delhi and MBA from Indian School of Business, Hyderabad. He is passionate about real estate development and investing. He currently is a development manager at Piramal Realty. Before Piramal, Gaurav has worked with Mckinsey & Co and Unitech Group.
After his Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from Anna University, Harish completed his Master’s in computation for Design & Optimization from MIT. Post that Harish has worked in the financial industry in various investment related roles. He is currently serving as the Vice President/ Portfolio Manager of commodity Strategies at Loomis Sayles in Boston. In the past year he has been actively featured in various prominent news journals including Reuters and Wall Street Journal.
Krithika completed her Bachelors' in Electrical Engineering from Anna University, Chennai and went on to join the MBA programme of the University of Indiana, Kelley School of Business. Currently, she is working as Director Business Process Consultant with United Services Automobile Association.
Post her B Tech from IIIT Allahabad, Manisha went on to do her Masters' in Computer Science, from the University of Illinois, and successfully completed it in 2007. After getting recruited by Microsoft, during her Masters', she worked in the Windows division, in Redmond, WA, for 7 years. She then shifted focus to developing software and services, for 'A Place for Mom' for 3 years. A Place for Mom is the largest senior living referral service in the United States. She is currently working as a Software Engineer, developing business systems software and services, for Tableau Software.
Mihir is currently Head of Marketing at Tata Digital. He was previously Vice President and held various leadership positions at Pepperfry and was a part of the founding team. Primarily, he has been Head of Marketing responsible for scaling Pepperfry to become India's biggest and most well-known Furniture brand over the last 7 years. Mihir completed his MBA from IIM Calcutta in 2007 post which he worked with Nokia for 3 years in Sales and Marketing. Mihir was also part of the key team which launched Hotstar in 2015 by setting up the Data analytics function at Hotstar.
Santosh has a Bachelor’s in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the University of Mumbai and has acquired a Master’s in the same from the University of Arizona, a course he successfully completed in 2007. He then worked as software Development Engineer at Microsoft Corporation in Seattle till February 2011. Since May 2011 he is an Assistant Professor at University of Mumbai.
Sarath Venkatesh Kumar
Sarath leads product management of Smart Home Security portfolio at Amazon. Earlier, he worked in Apple's Core iPhone Team that shipped iPhones 6S, 7, and X. He holds a Masters' degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California Irvine, and a Bachelors' in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Anna University.
A CFA Charter holder, Suvrat was awarded the Narotam Sekhsaria Scholarship in the year 2005 for pursuing his Masters' in Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University. After graduating in 2007, Suvrat joined Citadel Investment Group in Chicago as a Quantitative Developer. He completed his MBA in Analytic Finance, Econometrics & Statistics, Managerial and Organizational Behavior from the Booth School of Business, University of Chicago. In 2019, he joined LSV Asset Management in Chicago as a Systems Analyst.
