What are the eligibility criteria for the Postgraduate Scholarships?
To be eligible for the scholarship an applicant must:
• Be an Indian national, residing in India
• Be below 30 years of age as on January 31, 2018
• Have at least one qualification at degree level
• Could be in the final year of graduation or awaiting results
• Have secured admission or awaiting admission to pursue postgraduate studies for the Fall-2018 semester ( Students who have applied and awaiting a decision from the university are also eligible to apply)
When are the applications open?
The applications are open between January 9, 2018 and March 15, 2018. All applications must be received by the Foundation by March 15, 2018
Where can one obtain the application form?
The application for the Postgraduate Scholarships can be submitted online as well as offline. To download the form/ complete the process online please visit our website http://pg.nsfoundation.co.in/
Can an applicant register with different email ids?
No, it is preferable to register with a single email id to allow us to interact better. Each registration costs Rs. 500, single registration is preferred.
Can the form be downloaded and sent by post?
No. The application form should be completed online only. Once you have submitted the form, a PDF copy can be downloaded for your perusal.
Does one also attach documents with the application form?
No documents are required to be attached at this stage. Only after the first level of screening shortlisted applicants will be asked to send attested copies of the following documents for verification along with a hand written essay on a topic that will be given by the Foundation.
In the course of filling the application form, can one make changes to the application form?
Yes. One does have the option of saving the application form and completing the application process later or making changes to the information entered. To use this option, you need to click on the Save button. However, once you submit your application, you will not be allowed to review your application.
Will it be possible to get a copy of the application form?
Yes. Once you submit the application form, you will receive an E-mail confirmation with the copy of the form. You can also use your log in credentials and view your completed application form. Student Log in remains active even after submitting the application form.
What are the documents required at the second stage of screening?
Only candidates shortlisted for the second stage will be required to produce the following documents:
1. Attested copies of the mark sheets of Xth, XIIth, and all years of the under-graduation study
2. Attested copies of score cards of any qualifying examination taken. (Eg. GRE, GMAT, CAT, GATE etc..)
• Copy of the admission letter
• Reference letters
• Statement of course fee
• Any other document indicating receipt of any other funding, fee waiver etc
What is the amount payable for the application process?
The application fee for the postgraduate scholarship programme is Rs. 500/-
What is the mode of payment?
The application fee is payable online using a debit/ credit card and net-banking.
When will the interviews be held?
The interviews will be held in the month of June 2013 in Mumbai.
How are the candidates informed?
Only shortlisted candidates are intimated about their selection. Due to high volume of application we regret our inability to respond individually to the candidates who have not been shortlisted. We do send out regret emails but due to the volume they may go into your spam inbox.
In case an applicant can not travel to Mumbai for the interview, will it be possible to have a telephonic interview or a skype interview?
No. Every candidate shortlisted for the interview has to be present in person for the interview that is held only in Mumbai.
Are the candidates reimbursed for their travel and accommodation for the Scholarship Interviews?
No. The candidates are not reimbursed for their travel and accommodation for the Scholarship.
What is the procedure after interviews?
Once the interviews have been conducted, the candidate is informed about selection/ non-selection within 20 days. The selected candidates have to submit some more documents and they will have to travel to Mumbai for a 2-day Orientation programme.
Is the Orientation programme mandatory to attend by the selected scholar?
Yes. Attendance for the orientation is mandatory to receiving the scholarship.
